The Work is Almost Over and the Rewards are Great

Here we are in the front entry, see my new door!

To the right is the music room, complete with new paint, carpet, french doors and a beautiful painting.

To the left is the dining room, I recovered the chairs.

I got a new painting for my kitchen too. I also painted and I am working on new curtains. Notice the crown molding everywhere.

If you remember the family room this is what the mantle was like. The mantel has been rebuilt, the bricks died, the floors refinished, some new furniture added an rearranged.

Spring??????

Wow! The blossoms are just fabulous. Now it is mosly the pear trees and some magnolias and forsythia. I am glad that it is a little bit cool because that will let the blossoms last a little longer. Spring is my favorite time of year. It is new, fresh, beautiful, hopeful, and every other good adjective I can think of. I had a real spurt of energy last week and managed my 3 miles 3 of the days of the week. But rain discouraged me the other days. Now that is the really odd thing about our spring, not only has it rained FOREVER it is now cold, high of 42 today. We even saw a few snowflakes on the way to church.

I am playing piano with Lindsey's string class for a little concert. It was fun practicing with them. I am teaching Ezekiel tomorrow and although I studied for several hours yesterday and a couple of hours today I can't say that I really know anything. Hopefully I will find the right thing to teach.

I need someone here to help me find pictures so just enjoy this boring update....Mom

Where is Noah when you need him?

If it ever quits raining we will all be happy! The constant gray skies are getting the best of this gray old lady. (I guess we match so it should be a good thing.) I brought home a cold and for the most part I just want to sit and moan.

With some help from Laura I might be able to keep this blog going. Yea! I bought a new pair of running shoes...Whoope de doo!

Spring Break

Talk about a terrific spring break! It came almost by accident when Paul decided to visit Salt Lake for the Samuel Smith 200 birthday commemoration. Well, if you are going to Utah you had just as well make the trip worth the time and visit everyone. So here I am in Idaho remembering how cold it can get, but I didn't know that when I grew up here.

Just by coincidence Ester decided to sell Dad's house and Millie and I spent some time there going through pictures and sorting them by family. I had a great time with Kirsten and Justin for a weekend and enjoyed a wonderful S.S. lesson taught by Justin. Also heard a great talk from Elder Hammond at Women's Week "morningside."

Melissa and I had a great time just sewing, eating, jabbering, and just doing nothing. At Mary's we have enjoyed to Easter Egg hunts, kite flying, and of course cooking and eating. I guess it is a good thing to be missing all that St. Louis rain.

Must say, I really miss seminary. Those teenagers really keep your spirits up.
